Eurogamer Expo 2009 – Confirmed

Eurogamer Expo 2008 – 28-29 October; part of the London Games Festival.

This event was undoubtedly the highlight for many of the British gaming public and from a personal stand point, the best Public Gaming Event I’ve ever been too. It gave players a chance to sample some of the best Q4 releases including Mirrors Edge, Left 4 Dead, Gears of War 2, Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts, Little Big Planet and fan favorite Street Fighter 4. It wasn’t so much about the games, it was more about going to an event and sharing Truman Brewery with literally 100s of other like minded people. I guess the photo below doesn’t really betray the excitement but you should know that the writer of this blog is in the picture, shocking.

We are all happy, on the inside.

There was some really interesting keynotes surrounding the gaming industry including a Q & A session with the very lovely Ellie Gibson, Tom Bramwell and Oli Welsh. Gaming workshops were also constantly going on upstairs in collaboration with the Games Career Fair where many developers and industry veterans such as Johnny Minkley were hosting sessions about ‘getting into the industry.’

So I’m sure it is with ecstatic joy that Eurogamer announce that the Expo will happen again this year, two years running no less! Gaming conventions never really work in England. From what I saw from Eurogamer’s debut event in 2008 its going to be a blast all over again, no dates or game appearances have been confirmed yet but none the less we are all excited in England. We will all know a little more when the event will be announced properly on May 8th, but if you cannot wait until then announcements will trickle through on the 2009 Expo’s official twitter feed here

God I hate twitter, we’ll keep you updated.
